Nowadays many Massachusetts take to the outdoors to enjoy the sun, warmth, and scents of spring. Though several of these individuals run, walk, or ride a bike on or near the roadways motorists owe them a duty of care to keep them safe from harm. Tragically, one Massachusetts pedestrian was recently killed in a car accident. The victim, a young, cheerful female student who was running near the roadway, was struck by an SUV. The woman was taken to the hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. The driver, who has been found at fault in 10 other accidents, was driving on a suspended license and was subsequently taken into custody after the crash. He now faces multiple charges, including motor vehicle homicide.
