Car accident kills Roxbury man driving the wrong way

On Behalf of | Sep 19, 2012 | Car Accidents, Firm News

Tragedy struck twice in a week on the roads of Massachusetts when a 58-year-old man from Roxbury was killed after driving in the wrong direction. The car accident occurred near the entrance of the O’Neill Tunnel in Boston. It was the second fatal car crash involving a vehicle being driven the wrong direction in less than a week.

Police are continuing to investigate the cause of this car crash. The driver of the other vehicle, a 45-year-old woman, had to be extricated from her car and was taken to Tufts medical center with non-life threatening injuries. At this point, there is no indication that drugs or alcohol were involved in the accident.

Just days before this car accident, another car crash occurred involving a driver going the wrong way. This accident was a head on collision in which both of the drivers, an 84 year old who was traveling in the wrong direction, and a 28 year old, were killed. This accident is also currently being investigated by the police. They are trying to determine whether the 84 year old suffered from some type of medical issue at the time of the accident.

The surviving victim of the first accident could prevail should she seek compensation from the negligent driver that caused this accident. She may be able to demand monetary damages for the medical expenses she has incurred as a result of this accident both now and into the future. She may also be able to recover for the pain and suffering she has endured both now and into the future as a result of this accident. Likewise, the surviving family members of the 28-year-old will likely be able to recover monetary damages in a wrongful death action against the estate of the deceased 84 year old driver.
