Massachusetts window cleaner injured on the job

Many Massachusetts residents go to work every day without much thought about the safety of their work environment. Yet, when something goes wrong and a worker is injured, the worker may be left with serious injuries, massive medical bills and an inability to work. These can be trying times, leaving an injured worker in physical pain and emotionally distressed. One Massachusetts worker may be facing these circumstances.

The worker, a window cleaner, was injured on the job when he fell more than 20 feet at a hospital and landed on part of the hospital's roof. The man was rushed to the hospital, but his condition is unclear at this time. The Weymouth Fire Department stated the cause of the accident is under investigation.

A work-related injury like this may leave the worker in a dire condition physically, emotionally and financially. When one is injured on the job, their employer's insurance should provide Workers' compensation. Yet, all too often the employer or their insurer challenges the claim. Obtaining an attorney may be the only way an injured worker can show these companies he is serious about recovering the money he is owed.

To succeed in obtaining Workers' compensation, an injured worker must establish that he was injured, the injury was work related, and that any disputed medical bills were for necessary treatment. A work-related injury can include a scaffolding collapse, a ladder fall, a forklift accident, or a fire, amongst many other unsafe working conditions.

Once a worker obtains Workers' compensation he can use that money to cover lost wages and medical expenses. The benefits are limited in amount and duration, but an experienced attorney will fight to get an injured worker the full compensation he needs and deserves.
