Worker injured in construction site accident

Most Massachusetts residents go to work every day without any concern for their safety on the job. For some, though, these concerns are an everyday reality. And even those who don’t give it much thought can quickly find themselves facing devastating injuries when there is a workplace accident. The after-effects of on-the-job injuries can be severe and long-lasting, which is why it is critically important for injured workers to seek out workers’ compensation benefits.

Recently a Massachusetts man was seriously injured at a construction site at which he was working. According to reports, the man was installing insulation in a building when supports gave out, causing the man to fall about 20 feet. The worker never lost consciousness, but he did suffer internal injuries and complained of back and side pain.

When a worker is injured on the job, the first concern is getting healthy again. The second concern is ensuring that the worker has the means to receive adequate medical care and cover any lost wages. This is where workers’ compensation may be of assistance. Those who successfully seek out benefits have their medical bills paid and receive compensation for lost wages until they can return to work.

As helpful as this program is, though, it can also be difficult to navigate, especially when a claim is denied. Some workplace injuries appear rather clean-cut. But others are cloudy with regard to whether the injuries were actually suffered on the job. When issues like this arise, it might be beneficial to speak with an attorney who can provide insightful advice.
