Recently, a tour bus filled with teenagers and their chaperones crashed into a Boston overpass that was too low for its safe passage through. The roof of the bus was compromised as a result of the collision. Over 35 individuals were injured as a result of the horrific accident.
Car accidents are frequently caused by distracted or disoriented drivers. Reports indicate that the driver of the bus may have been looking down at his GPS when he struck the overpass. The bus was reportedly not supposed to be traveling on the road where the accident occurred due to its height. It is not known at this time if the bus driver will be charged as a result of this accident and the spokesperson for the bus company has not yet commented on the cause of the accident.
One teenager who suffered serious injuries as a result of the accident is still hospitalized and is reported to be in critical condition. The teenagers had been visiting Harvard University in conjunction with the Destined for a Dream Foundation, a non-profit based in Pennsylvania.
Unfortunately, tragic accidents can strike at any time. The individuals who suffered injuries as a result of this accident may be able to recover compensation for their injuries by filing a personal injury claim. Some of the damages that may be recovered in this type of an action could include lost future wages, reimbursement of medical expenses, and compensation for pain and suffering.
These types of claims can be complex and difficult to navigate. It is important to obtain as much information as possible if one is involved in such a claim. An experienced personal injury attorney can help in obtaining the maximum amount of compensation in these types of claims.
