This blog often discusses car accidents and just how devastating they can be for an individual and his or her family. Perhaps one of the most frightening aspects of a car wreck is that it often comes out of nowhere. A drunk, distracted, or otherwise negligent driver can make a mistake which, in the blink of an eye, can forever change the course of an individual’s life. Sadly, one of these accidents occurred recently on a Massachusetts roadway.
Four people were injured in a head-on collision on Route 2. According to police, a car crossed the center line and slammed into an oncoming SUV. The driver of the car was thrown from the vehicle and was airlifted to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The unsuspecting individuals in the SUV, two adults and a toddler, were also hurt in the accident. They were rushed to the hospital, but their current conditions are unknown.
Unfortunately, accidents like this happen far more often than they should. Such a wreck can leave an individual with a serious injury which, in turn, could cause excessive pain and suffering, permanent disability, disfigurement, or death. These innocent victims then have a difficult road ahead of them as they struggle to relieve their pain, recoup their functionality, and, on an emotional level, move past the accident.
However, these victims also often have to deal with very real financial losses. Medical bills and lost wages can take a toll, leaving a victim unable to pay bills or living paycheck-to-paycheck. By obtaining the assistance of an experienced Massachusetts attorney, though, these individuals can learn how best to act on their legal rights in an attempt to recover the compensation they deserve.
